“Leave no room or foothold for the devil [give no opportunity to him].”
Just Another Sinner is the man who pushed me into starting to write this blog. Since I started I’ve felt under attack. I often feel God telling write. I feel compelled and have the words in my mind and know exactly what to say but when I go to type something happens, seems like disaster or temptation are waiting for me to open this app.
Then I say, if only I had a computer or if I wasn’t so depressed. When God works out this trail or the next.
Well it keeps getting hard and now Sinner is denying the one true God. Sinner is turning his back on the reason we started blogging in the first place. I open this app and want to cry. Why weren’t we living for God? Why didn’t we persevere with this sight? How did we give the enemy a foothold?
It’s easy to listen to the enemies lies. The whispers of flesh saying, I’m most important, I’m in control. I don’t need God or anyone. It’s easy to listen to the lies saying give yourself to sin, it’s more fun. Then it’s easy to run from God saying to ourselves, he’s not real or he doesn’t care.
It’s not brave to follow the flesh. When we turn from God we are acting in fear. Faith takes guts, trust and perseverance. The amazing thing is once we truly are brave enough God will help us.
We weren’t promised a free ride or an easy life by God. God is worth every battle. True joy can be found in God.
When people say God isn’t real, I want to cry for them. He is not only real, but awesome and powerful. I know it takes humility, faith and a surrendering of self to feel His love but it is worth it. Only when you submit can you be free, only when you let God take over can know how much you can do.
I only have to look at the wonders of this world to know God is real. I only need to close my eyes to know He is with me, a loving personal God. He isn’t distant. He is wrathful. God is love. God is pure. God is slow to anger and quick to forgive.
“And Jehovah descended in the cloud, and stood with him there, and proclaimed the name of Jehovah. And Jehovah passed by before him, and proclaimed, Jehovah, Jehovah, a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abundant in lovingkindness and truth, keeping lovingkindness for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin; and that will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children’s children, upon the third and upon the fourth generation.” Exodus 34:5-7
The only question is are you brave enough to follow Him? Are you strong enough for faith? Do you believe yourself worthy enough to humble yourself before God? Are you honest enough to say God is the one true path? Is ok if you’re not God is and He loves you, choose Hod and through Him all things are possible.
“Looking at them, Jesus said, “With people it is impossible, but not with God; for all things are possible with God.” Mark 10:27
Mark 9:23 NASB
And Jesus said to him, “‘If You can?’ All things are possible to him who believes.”
2 Thessalonians 3:11-16 NASB
For we hear that some among you are leading an undisciplined life, doing no work at all, but acting like busybodies. Now such persons we command and exhort in the Lord Jesus Christ to work in quiet fashion and eat their own bread. But as for you, brethren, do not grow weary of doing good. If anyone does not obey our instruction in this letter, take special note of that person and do not associate with him, so that he will be put to shame. Yet do not regard him as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother. Now may the Lord of peace Himself continually grant you peace in every circumstance. The Lord be with you all!
Matthew 19:23-26 NASB
And Jesus said to His disciples, “Truly I say to you, it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. Again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.” When the disciples heard this, they were very astonished and said, “Then who can be saved?” And looking at them Jesus said to them, “With people this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
Mark 14:36 NASB
And He was saying, “Abba! Father! All things are possible for You; remove this cup from Me; yet not what I will, but what You will.”
James 4:1-10 NASB
What is the source of quarrels and conflicts among you? Is not the source your pleasures that wage war in your members? You lust and do not have; so you commit murder. You are envious and cannot obtain; so you fight and quarrel. You do not have because you do not ask. You ask and do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it on your pleasures. You adulteresses, do you not know that friendship with the world is hostility toward God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. Or do you think that the Scripture speaks to no purpose: “He jealously desires the Spirit which He has made to dwell in us”? But He gives a greater grace. Therefore it says, “God IS OPPOSED TO THE PROUD, BUT GIVES GRACE TO THE HUMBLE.” Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Be miserable and mourn and weep; let your laughter be turned into mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves in the presence of the Lord, and He will exalt you.
Ephesians 4:4-32 ASV
There is one body, and one Spirit, even as also ye were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over all, and through all, and in all. But unto each one of us was the grace given according to the measure of the gift of Christ. Wherefore he saith, When he ascended on high, he led captivity captive, And gave gifts unto men. (Now this, He ascended, what is it but that he also descended into the lower parts of the earth? He that descended is the same also that ascended far above all the heavens, that he might fill all things.) And he gave some to be apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; for the perfecting of the saints, unto the work of ministering, unto the building up of the body of Christ: till we all attain unto the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a fullgrown man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: that we may be no longer children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, in craftiness, after the wiles of error; but speaking truth in love, we may grow up in all things into him, who is the head, even Christ; from whom all the body fitly framed and knit together through that which every joint supplieth, according to the working in due measure of each several part, maketh the increase of the body unto the building up of itself in love. This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye no longer walk as the Gentiles also walk, in the vanity of their mind, being darkened in their understanding, alienated from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the hardening of their heart; who being past feeling gave themselves up to lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness. But ye did not so learn Christ; if so be that ye heard him, and were taught in him, even as truth is in Jesus: that ye put away, as concerning your former manner of life, the old man, that waxeth corrupt after the lusts of deceit; and that ye be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and put on the new man, that after God hath been created in righteousness and holiness of truth. Wherefore, putting away falsehood, speak ye truth each one with his neighbor: for we are members one of another. Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: neither give place to the devil. Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labor, working with his hands the thing that is good, that he may have whereof to give to him that hath need. Let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but such as is good for edifying as the need may be, that it may give grace to them that hear. And grieve not the Holy Spirit of God, in whom ye were sealed unto the day of redemption. Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamor, and railing, be put away from you, with all malice: and be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, even as God also in Christ forgave you.
